Junior Leader of the Year Nomination

I am both humbled and honored by the nomination for Junior Leader of the Year. The opportunities that golf have provided me and being a PGA Professional have been way beyond my expectations. I had the privilege of working for Chad Seymour at Westfield Country Club for 15 years, and have been at my current position at Green Valley Golf Club for the past 4 years.


  • Elected to PGA Membership in 2001.
  • Accepted position as PGA Head Golf Professional & General Manager at Green Valley Golf Club in 2009.
  • Father of 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

Selection Service

  • Host club and sponsor for the Westfield Junior PGA National Championship 2001 – 2007. This event helped elevate the championship to a new standard highly regarded in the PGA & golfing community.
  • Served on the Apprentice Committee of the NOPGA 2001-2005.
  • Host club for the 2004 Junior Ryder Cup.
  • Member of the President’s Council on Growing the Game 2005 – present.
  • Nominated for Private Club Merchandiser of the Year in 2006.
  • PGA Professional Profile of the Month in May 2011.
  • Volunteer for numerous tour events when scheduled in the NOPGA section including the PGA Seniors at Firestone, Canterbury, and Inverness.
  • Volunteer for numerous Growth of the Game and Play Golf America initiatives, including Patriot Golf Day and teaching at a variety of venues.

Junior Golf Promotion & Service:

  • Assisted in developing the Westfield Junior Academy. This academy was developed to assist high school golf team members with swing improvement. The academy involved over 1,000 junior golfers from 2001 through 2007.
  • Improved the junior golf program at Green Valley. Program is 10 weeks, almost 90 students each week. Increased participation and revenue for golf club.
  • Member of Zanesville District Golf Association since 2009 and became President in 2010. Our mission & objective is promoting and supporting amateur golf with emphasis on the activities of junior golf.
  • Instituted a 12 & Under Tournament at Green Valley in 2010.
  • The ZDGA awards 4 to 6 Junior Scholarships each year, totaling around $4000. Since 1998, almost $37,000 has been awarded to our area junior golfers.
  • Developed an additional 3 ZDGA scholarships for junior golfers based on need from monies raised or donated from private sector.
  • Instruct and teach several golf clinics for area junior & senior high schools. Host club for Zanesville Middle School Golf Team.
